For ten years I have been going to promax conferences and have been told that promos are dead, media planning will take over the world, PVR's will mean no-one will watch adverts and that generally promo departments and creative teams will be replaced by pop-ups, menus and EPG's.

Well here's the news Promax people, it's just not true.
Our audiences love promos, they love trailers, they love sneak peeks, they love coming soons and they love previews.
Bite-sized, sexy bits of shows held together with pithy scripts, eye-popping graphics and punning taglines have always, and will always be at the heart of what we do.

This is not to decry media planners, schedulers, production or programming, they all play their part, but creativity is at TV's heart and it is at the absolute epicentre of what we do.

So this year's Promax Conference and Awards will celebrate that creativity and wallow in the fact that we have great jobs, in a great industry.

This year you can watch some of the funniest women on the planet, argue with advertising agencies, listen to some of the biggest names in movies, have a chance to change your entire career by directing a video for one of the biggest names in pop and be certain of a number of surprises along the way.
